Friends of the DC-3 is a non-profitmaking preservation
group formed in 1981 by
John and Maureen Woods. It acts as an information centre for all those
people interested in the greatest aeroplane ever built. Membership
includes restorers, film & TV companies, operators, historians and
anyone who is interested in the aircraft.
The groups main aim is to keep as many aircraft as possible alive, to
do so means financial support is vital. By becoming a member whether an
armchair enthusiast or someone who likes to be more involved you will
be helping to perpetuate a legend. All members receive our quarterly
publication "Dakota News" and we arrange meeting and flights and also
keep members aware of events all around the world.
We also have Canadian and Australian chapters of Friends of the DC-3.
